Sticks and Stones Christmas

This happy holiday quilt measures 44' x 54" and uses a bright selection of Christmas fabric.
Santas, snowflakes, holly leaves and candy canes and tree lights in an arrangement called Sticks and Stones.
This has been quilted in a meandering design in a smoke-free environment and is 100% cotton.

Snowball 9-Patch

I love looking at this quilt. It's so colorful and happy.

54" x 70" and custom quilted with varigated pastel thread. This would make an excellent sofa throw to leave out for a splash of color and snuggle up with on cold Sunday afternoons.

Click on the photo for a larger image where you can see the leaf motif in the quilting.

100% cotton fabric and made in a smoke-free environment.

Sawtooth Trail

This lap quilt is 44" x 54" and made up of Kaffe Fassett fabrics from a few years back.
Fassett fabrics are weirdly wonderful and fun to mash together in combination. Just when you think "that'll NEVER work" it actually does. It's meant to blend and meld.
This quilt is machine quilted and made of 100% cotton fabric in a smoke-free environment

Rondo Medallion

So let's start the show with this beautiful quilt, Medallion

It's 64" x 64" and has a venetian feel to it, rich golds and burgundy in the stars set off by the creamy medallion squares. The secondary "on point" design isn't readily noticable until the viewer gives it a moment. Eventually, you start to feel the 3 Dimensional quality to the layout, the tiles almost appear to float above the stars and point squares. You could almost be walking on the floor of San Marco in Venice.
If you click on the image you'll get a close up in a separate window to examine the fabric motif. We mitred the corners to take advantage of the border fabric in this line.

All the fabric is 100% cotton, unwashed and quilted in a blended batting. It has a lovely drape and soft to the touch.

This has been machine pieced and quilted here in Mandeville, LA in a smoke-free environment

A New Year - A New Venue - A New Blog

Happy New Year to Everyone!!!! I hope 2009 brings you much happiness and fabric and ideas for creativity.

We decided, here at Bright Hopes Quilting, to set up a secondary blogsite to display our currently available quilts for sale. This is a happier method to get good information on the individual quilts without making the ShopBlog a spec-heavy site.

We will also show some of our past year BOMS and ShopHop quilt kits that are available for purchase in total. In the case of BOMs, these would be all inclusive of each month's pattern, fabric, in some cases books and finally the finishing kit and binding. Most of the BOMS are Full to Queen-sized quilts. The kitted quilts range in all sizes and final dimensions will be specified in each post.

All you will need to provide is the work(!) and batting, backing and quilting.

Each Post will focus on a separate quilt, with dimensions, price and fabric selection used where I feel it's intrinsic to the design element. Please feel free to leave comments in the spaces provided below each quilt and I'll make an effort to keep up with correspondence from this end.

You may also give us a ring at the shop during business hours and we'll be happy to assist you.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope we leave you in stitches.
